Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern use of the Yorkshire Medical Centre and Laboratory website and communications with our office, including SMS/text messaging.

Medical Services

Information on this website is provided for general office information only. It is not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or substitute for professional medical advice from a qualified healthcare provider who has evaluated you.

If you have a medical emergency, call local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use this website, email, or SMS for emergency or urgent medical issues.

Appointments and Communications

Appointment requests, office communications, email, and text messages are not confirmed until our office accepts or confirms them. We may contact you by phone, email, SMS, or other available methods to manage appointments, registration, billing, insurance, laboratory services, and related administrative matters.

SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number to Yorkshire Medical Centre and consenting to receive text messages, you agree to receive SMS/MMS messages from Yorkshire Medical Centre and Laboratory. Messages may include appointment reminders, verification messages, registration or intake notices, laboratory or office administrative updates, billing or insurance-related notices, and other healthcare service communications. Messages may be powered by AWS Notify, AWS End User Messaging, Amazon SNS, Twilio, and/or mobile carrier services.

Subscribers may opt in by selecting the separate, optional SMS checkbox on the secure YorkshireMedical.org registration form or through other affirmative written consent retained by Yorkshire Medical Centre. The SMS checkbox is not preselected, and acceptance of the general website terms does not itself provide SMS consent. By opting in, you authorize us to send text messages to the mobile number you provide. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of receiving medical treatment.

Message frequency may vary per user. Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have questions about your text plan or data plan, contact your wireless provider. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

The first message will identify Yorkshire Medical Centre and explain how to get help or opt out. Text HELP for help or STOP to cancel where two-way messaging is supported by the messaging provider and carrier. Inbound text replies may not be supported for messages delivered to Bahamas numbers, and the displayed sender may change during international delivery. You can always obtain help or opt out by calling (242) 394-6701 or emailing [email protected]. After we receive an opt-out, we may send one final confirmation where supported, and then we will stop sending SMS messages to that number unless you opt in again.

For questions about our text messaging services, contact us at [email protected] or (242) 394-6701. For privacy questions, please read our Privacy Policy.

WhatsApp Messaging Terms

WhatsApp is a separate optional channel. SMS consent does not authorize WhatsApp messages. With a separately recorded WhatsApp opt-in, Yorkshire Medical Centre may use its registered WhatsApp Business account for non-urgent appointment scheduling, reminders, and administrative office updates. Business-initiated messages use approved WhatsApp templates where required.

WhatsApp is not for emergencies, medical advice, diagnoses, test results, prescriptions, photographs, detailed symptoms, or insurance documents. Do not send sensitive clinical information through WhatsApp. You may ask us to stop through WhatsApp where supported, by calling (242) 394-6701, or by emailing [email protected]. Consent is not a condition of receiving medical treatment.

Patient Responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate contact information, keeping your contact information current, following instructions from your healthcare provider, and seeking emergency care when needed. If your mobile number changes or is reassigned, notify us promptly so we can update our records.

Website Use

You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, submit false or misleading information, or use the website in a way that violates applicable law or the rights of others.

Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, policies, services, or content.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yorkshire Medical Centre is not liable for damages arising from website interruptions, delayed or undelivered electronic communications, third-party services, or use of information on this website as a substitute for direct medical care.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
